Developing Your Personal Influence and Impact

Developing your personal influence and impact

A truly unique development opportunity to understand your effectiveness and success in influencing others in the work environment. Key to our success in business life is the quality of conversations that we have with people around us- our boss(es), peers, customers, clients and team members. If we have good conversations we will generally do well in our career. Poor quality conversations that result in dissatisfaction, frustration or de-motivation will invariably mean we are less successful. These conversations are representations of our range of influencing strategies and styles. They come alive in the following ways:

  • How we present our ideas and proposal to others
  • How we operate in meetings
  • How we operate with the boss and our peers
  • How we stand up for what we want
  • How we try to attract other people
  • How we talk to ourselves and prepare for certain situations
  • How we deal with conflict or difficult situations

This powerful programme provides a unique feedback forum for people to critically evaluate their current influencing strategies. Using a series of very powerful exercises participants get to see the effectiveness of what they currently do. The programme not only addresses the question of communicating with others it also examines the impact of personal dialogue (My belief systems and how I talk to myself). The programme examines how the interaction of these two dimensions shape individual effectiveness. Significantly the programme steers clear of "psychobabble" and focuses on practical behaviors and outcomes. We seek to help people understand their effectiveness rather than seek to change their personality. The programme does not teach people to "act " or be someone who they are not! Rather it forces people to recognise and evaluate if they are using their full asset base when influencing others

As a result the programme is very rich in the amount of personal feedback that people receive. The environment created is one of genuine openness and honesty- there are no hidden agendas or politics being played. This makes for a very safe learning environment and the result is a very high level of individual learning and personal insight which results in real change.

People on this programme get told what they do that works and what does not work.

    Who should attend?
The programme will appeal to people who:

  • Need to improve their effectiveness in influencing others
